Nate’s Episode Review – Supernatural 13.23 “Let the Good Times Roll”
Well, I still consider Supernatural‘s season 8’s “Sacrifice” to be the worse finale, but this one is definitely the silliest.

Editor’s Note: We are excited to share these historical and cultural insights on Supernatural from videographer and The Winchester Family Business fan, Giuila Rodilossi! P.S. The Road So Far: Supernatural “Let the Good Times Roll”: I Sing of Dean Winchester Who Fell to Earth with Wings of Black and Eyes Now Blue By P.S. Griffin (a.k.a. Castiel’s Cat) The Tragic Hero “Like Achilles, the hero who forgot his heel, or like Icarus who, flying close to the…
I’m not sure that my good times were rolling while watching this Supernatural finale. I’m also not sure that I’ll enjoy Dean in his new role. This episode does have great moments and invites compelling speculation and wonder. I’ll have to debate the pros and cons of what happens in this story later.
It seems like just a short time ago that we were left with mysterious glowing eyes, Castiel’s prone body and burnt wings, and Mary and Sam and Dean having lost everyone and everything in the war against Lucifer. Nevermind that rift and the apocalypse world. And here we are again, already a whole season later…
The Morning After I loved it! Absolutely loved it! That’s what a Supernatural finale should be – thrilling, gratifying, well-written, superbly acted, fantastic cinematography with scenes that take your breath away, plot closures that make sense and a tantalizing cliffhanger. I’m mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted – which is what this show is supposed to…
Here we are at the penultimate episode of season thirteen and though it was wrought with emotion, it was somehow…quieter than I expected for the second-to-last episode. “Exodus” saw more focus on character’s emotional arcs and somewhat less on action in the thirty-one hours in the Apocalypse World, at least until the very end which…

Did Sam tell Jack the truth about Lucifer being left behind in the alternate universe? The answer to this question may change Sam and Jack’s relationship, and Jack’s allegiance to goodness, for all time. Did Sam tell…
The recap seemed extra long tonight: it shows them assembling their most powerful allies and Sam telling Dean that they will see this through together. Cas says that they need Lucifer, and we see Lucifer caught, bound, bleeding grace, and then overcoming Rowena and being sent back through the rift. We see the tunnel in…
What better way to celebrate Sammy than to *admire* some of the very best shots of him throughout the years!
A lot packed into this week’s 40-minute installment. Comedy, drama, action and heartache all for the price of one episode! You can certainly feel the stakes rising and the gaining momentum as we get closer to that inevitable showdown (whatever it may be) in the final days of season thirteen. While not solely focused on…
The Morning After An artistic gem. Every once in a while a story comes along that really shows the depth of a performer’s talent. Supernatural’s “Unfinished Business” was that show for Richard Speight, Jr. As its director, Richard’s signature style became evident. A Kill Bill homage, the Tarantino music, flashbacks, slow motion, strobe-lit gunfight and…
