What I’d give right now to see what’s going on in the head of Dean Winchester…
“The Vessel” was a powerful, suspenseful story that dramatically advanced the season’s battles against Amara and Lucifer. Its impact on the season, and in fact, Supernatural canon, was completely unexpected.
I really enjoyed “Love Hurts”! In fact, it was another season 11 episode that actually scared me so much I had to close my eyes! The dead husband knocking on the door, the panic, the footfalls on the bare floor, feet shuffling as attackers approached and victims retreated – phenomenal directing by Phil Sgriccia!
Episode 12 crossed the mid-season point in season 11’s 23 episode series. Curiously named “Don’t You Forget About Me”, I have to wonder what else in season 11 are we being told not to forget? So after a quick review of this stand-alone story, let’s revisit some of the season’s earlier threads to see if…
“Screaming like a Banshee”. I’ve heard and said that phrase my whole life but never knew it had its roots in folklore. I guess you really do learn something new every day – especially from Supernatural!

At baptisms, Christians are asked simple questions such as “Do you reject Satan and all his works?” It is a fundamental tenet of the religion—one that is often said with little thought. In the Supernatural episode “The Devil’s In the Details,” we see that very question asked, explored, and answered.
Oh Castiel. You adorable, well-meaning, caring, sad, misguided, pathetic and TOTALLY OUT OF YOUR FREAKING MIND AGAIN angel. I get there wasn’t time to talk this over with Dean but…really? Nah, that sounds like I have displeasure with the episode. I don’t at all. I quite loved it. Yeah, once again we’re left with some…
For the next few months, I will be trying a different format for my “Threads” review series. This evolution has been brought about by real life challenges and changes in schedules for both me and Alice. Going forward, I will be posting on Thursday with her review moving to Friday. I am calling this experimental…
It was CW day at the Television Critics Association today and Supernatural got some mention.
I hope you’ve enjoyed our Auld Lang Syne series! The Winchester Family Business staff has certainly enjoyed sharing our favorite articles with you throughout this holiday season. Since I helped pull together all the articles in the series, I thought it was fitting that my reflections be last. It wasn’t hard to pick my favorite…
