Well you've got to give the show runners props for taking a chance.
What does that mean? Watch the video!
So something I filmed that gave me problems - I'm really, REALLY happy they're spreading out the acquisitions of the macguffins this season. I mean, without looking it up, do you remember what it took to cure Dean of the Mark of Cain? Do you remember how long it took them to get those ingredients?
(Originally in the vid I said 2 because I thought I had mixed up the sequence of events and part of the effort was in the prior episode. Technically it sort of was and I was right, but they didn't know it at the time.)
1 episode! Just one episode to get a piece from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and the original golden calf. Is it any wonder then the effort to cure the MoC felt like such a half-assed effort? At least this time, if they actually spread out the acquisition of what the boys need over multiple episodes then the rescue will feel epic and rewarding. Heck, I half wish this was the Wayward Sisters putting in the effort to go dimension hopping and track down the boys. Still, it's another positive sign of the current show runners just putting in the effort to actually write well.
That's why, despite some flaws, I just can't hate this season.
