Supernatural 15.09 “The Trap”– Love and Lies
I’ve been processing this episode for almost a week, and I’m still kind of struggling to figure out what I think. We’ll go with what I know first and then try and unpack what I’m not so certain of.

Um…err…well…oh crap. Who am I kidding? There are 11 episodes of “Supernatural” left and at this point, I would like to watch episodes I actually enjoy. When I look at the construction and intent of “The Trap” from a writer’s perspective, I see what was supposed to happen. On paper, it could be perceived as…
The Morning After I’m excited to explore the implications of Supernatural’s 15th mid-season premiere, “The Trap”! It answered many questions, but the pursuit of those answers raised many intriguing issues – philosophical, mythological and logical in nature. The episode was also an emotional ringer. Brilliantly acted by all involved (need I mention Jared, Jensen, Misha…
The Road So Far: God is back, Jack is dead, “Welcome to the end,” Amara tells Chuck that he needs her, Rowena does her spell and falls into the gulf in the earth, Michael/Adam tells them they need a leviathan blossom in Purgatory and opens a rift Now: A plastic pink elephant with an uplifted…
Mid-season finale? Time for me to break out the limited edition figurines!
This episode is baffling me a little. I watched it a few days ago now, and when I first watched it, I was HERE FOR IT. I loved the story that was being told and I loved the way it set up the back half of the season. But now, as I’m sitting down to…
Whew. Where to even begin with this one? It was chalk full of Supernatural goodness from top to bottom, featuring old faces, reunions, phenomenal acting and serious cliffhangers, on two fronts. Some interesting moments of symmetry. What does it all add up to? One great mid-season finale. Let’s break it down.
The Morning After Finally! A myth arc episode! While I enjoy Supernatural’s lighter episodes, I am drawn to the deeper story, i.e. the mythology, the relationships between the characters, and whatever big stakes, supernatural battle is currently being fought by Sam, Dean and Castiel. “Our Father Who Aren’t In Heaven” (OFWAIH) delivered on all those…
THEN: The flashback shows Adam (who was really a ghoul taking on his body and memories) calling the Winchesters and introducing himself, Cas calling Michael/Adam “Assbutt” and setting him on fire, Sam pulling Michael/Adam into the chasm into hell. We see potential futures of demonic Dean attacking Sam, the God-wound, Eileen being brought back to…
Warning: High levels of testosterone ahead.
As these final episodes air, there’s a nagging question that keeps coming up. How would I like the show to end? I know that the end is truly not the end. The story can carry on with limited series runs in the future like “The X-Files” or “Gilmore Girls,” or through a movie like “Firefly,”…
I love love loved this episode. I grinned through it, even though it was quite heavy, emotionally. I have many thoughts and feelings, so here we go. Before I get into the plot or character stuff, I need to express how happy it made me see Christian Kane. I’ve been a fan for years; since…
