For those of you who missed this Jennifer Arrow from E!Online posted an interview with Dawn Ostroff regarding SPN season 7.
She writes, “We just talked to CW president Dawn Ostroff, and she is boldly optimistic about bringing SPN back for a seventh season. Ostroff told us exclusively, “We haven’t officially picked anything up yet, but [Supernatural] is creatively doing so well—and it’s doing better on Friday night than it was on Thursday night—so I can’t imagine we won’t pick it up.”
“Our network team works with the Supernatural team very closely,” says Ostroff, but the two sides have not yet engaged in any talks about a season-seven myth arc. “No, it’s too far out. We haven’t started talking about next year, but I’d be shocked if we didn’t pick it up.”
I don’t think she is correct about the ratings. Everything I have read says that this season of SPN in not doing as well as this time last year, but if it Dawn thinks it is, great! (Note from Alice – It’s doing WAY better than what was in that Friday at 9pm time slot last year, which was an ANTM repeat. The DVR numbers are good, the network is happy. They tend not to compare shows with different time slots year to year.) Most websites speculate that SPN will be renewed by May 2011. The last two years, CW announced an early renewal of the series about mid February. Let’s hope they do that again this year.

Another great bit of news, SPN has been announced for Paley Fest in Los Angeles on March 13. Other current series to be honoured are White Collar, Hot In Cleveland, Parks and Recreation, Eastbound & Down, Walking Dead, True Blood, Community, American Idol and Raising Hope. Tickets are $75.00 per panel and go on sale for members on January 21st and to the public on January 23rd. The members of the SPN panel have not been named, but the last time SPN was at the fest was in 2006 the panel included Kim Manners, John Shiban, Jensen, Jared, Bob Singer and Eric Kripke.

Both Jim Beaver and Clif Kosterman have been tweeting how sick everyone is on the SPN set…everyone but Jared that is. As per JB, “I’m sick. Jensen’s sick……Our cinematographer Serge is sick. PAs, grips, camera guys, ADs, everybody but freaking Jared.†This is as much of a surprise to Jared as it to Jim. Seem Jared is usually the first one to catch anything. One SPN fan tweeted Jared didn’t get sick ‘cuz germs can’t climb that high.”
And as sick as he was, Jensen still attended the SFcon. So for those of you, who attended the con, if in a week to 10 days you get the flu, cherish it. You brought home a special part of Jensen.
Speaking of conventions, I came across some gif files of Jensen and Jared on stage.
Yeah…the two of them are a riot. If you haven’t seen them live yet, you should. It’s well worth it!
For Misha fans, Stonehenge Apocalypse is now available from the iTunes Movie Store. It is available as a rental for $3.99 and can be purchased for $14.99. To read my review of the movie, click here.
For Jeffrey Dean Morgan fans (ME!!!), he is top lining Lions-gate’s horror thriller “Dibbuk Box,” with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert producing via their Ghost House Pictures shingle. He will star as a recently divorced father whose youngest daughter becomes strangely connected to an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. As his daughter’s behavior becomes more erratic, the father senses a dark presence building until he discovers that the box was built to contain a dibbuk — a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host. Sounds like an episode of Supernatural to me……maybe in season seven?
And for those who follow Chad Lindberg, he will play a character names Hicks on episode six of “The Capeâ€. The episode will air on Valentine’s Day.
I will leave you with one illustrious fan’s opinion of the hellatus:
I totally agree. Thank goodness the boys are back next week! Happy rest of the hellatus to everyone. It’s shorter than you think!

Sablegreen,
I love these ‘corner’ chats with you. Thank you so much for keeping track of little nuggets (or at times really big nuggets) and rounding them up and presenting them for us, they are gems and your writing is fun and flows right along.
One week and we’re into the next ‘segment’ of the season. I’m betting we get a renewal announcement in the next couple of weeks, we’ve been pretty blessed with early renewals these last few years (really since S3’s writers’ strike…and happiness of hapiness, with SAG and AFRTA having had membership votes already on their contracts which are set to begin this upcoming July…there is no worry of a strike mucking up the works again.
Again, thanks for rounding up the goodies and sending them out to us.
Hi Sablegreen
I love your title ‘Sable’s Corner’.
That’s great news about the possibility of a Season 7, lets keep our fingers crossed. And another Paley Fest, can’t wait to see that. I never get tired of watching the first one.
Thank you for the updates.
