This episode, written by Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, begins on Valentine’s Day in an Ohio home. A couple is getting ready for a night out. The doorbell rings and the babysitter comes in.

The babysitter and the dad have been getting it on. The babysitter wants Dan to tell his wife about them and threatens to tell her if he doesn’t. Alone in the house, the babysitter is being watched. Something or someone enters through the French doors. She recongnizes the man and he massages her shoulders before punching through her chest and ripping her heart out.

Back at the bunker, Sam is researching the case when Dean comes in with a hangover. He wanders around the room and Sam notices that Dean has a hickey. Dean says it’s Valentine’s Day and he’s a hopeless romantic, helping all the single ladies as his civic duty. The boys banter back and forth and Sam stops it by showing Dean the case of the heartless babysitter. Dean wonders if they have an ironic werewolf.

Sam and Dean question the wife and husband. The wife says the only thing missing was the nanny cam from the kitchen. The boys survey the crime scene before deciding to split up. Sam is at the morgue, checking on the autopsy report. The husband is at work when Dean comes into question him further. Dean pressures him into confessing the affair with the babysitter. Dan stole the camera to erase the kiss on it. He shows Dean the video, which shows him killing the babysitter. Dan swears it’s not him because he was at dinner the entire time. Dean takes the video and goes back to the hotel. He shows Sam the video and they guess that it’s a shapeshifter.

Back at Dan’s office, his assistant leaves him and gets into the elevator. She bumps into a woman who goes to Dan’s office. “Staci” the babysitter or the shifter shows up. Shifter rips out Dan’s heart. Seems poetic.

Dean questions the assistant who tells him about bumping into the young girl. Sam and Dean show her a picture of Staci and she confirms it was her. Back at Dan’s house, they question Melissa about Dan’s affair with Staci. Melissa says she did know about the affair but she still loved him. Dean gives her a silver pen, testing to see if she is a monster. She takes it and writes down her number for them. Dean and Sam leave and Melissa runs to her bedroom and grabs a box filled with what seems like spellwork. She grabs a phone and calls someone, begging them to call her back as she throws the spellwork into the garbage disposal. Later that night, Melissa is alone in her house, drinking wine. There’s a knock at the door and she looks through the peephole and sees “Dan.” He breaks through the door and Melissa escapes and runs to Sam and Dean’s hotel room.

Melissa tells them that she told her hairdresser about the affair. Her hairdresser is a “white witch.” They figure out that she got a spell. They figure it is a curse, not a spell. It’s a kiss of death curse that is transmittable, or as Dean likes to say, “a magic STD.” Dan breaks into the hotel room and Dean kisses the wife in order to draw the curse to himself. The figure shifts shape into a woman, behind the curtain.

Sam chastises Dean for taking on the curse and playing the martyr. Sam and Dean try to figure out how to deal with what they are facing. They ask Melissa about the white witch. They go to the salon, which is called the “Art of Dyeing.” Ha. They give Melissa a knife and tell her to protect herself while they go and investigate the salon.  They break into the salon’s basement and into a locked cabinet filled with witchcraft paraphernalia. They are dealing with a Qareen who is heartless and manifests as the victim’s deepest, darkest desire before killing them for their heart. They play rock, paper, scissors and finally, Dean wins! Sam goes upstairs to find the original heart, which may belong to Sonya, the hairdresser. They have to find the heart and kill it to take out the Qareen. We see that he is being watched and then he is confronted by the hairdresser. Dean calls out to Sam to see if he found anything. Amara then appears.

Sonya has Sam captured. She tells him that someone has to get vengeance on these cheating men. “Amara” tells Dean to give into his desire and not feel the shame as Sonya tells Sam that some women are just idiots for wanting the relationships to work. Dean stops Amara from stealing his heart as Sonya puts a spell on Sam. Melissa stops Sonya as we switch back to the fight between Dean and Amara. Sam shoots Sonya and destroys the heart as Amara is about to take Dean’s. Amara evaporates into thin air.

Sam checks on Dean and sees that he’s okay. Dean rushes out and Sam sees evidence of the struggle and realizes that Dean met his darkest desire. Sam asks who was the darkest desire. Dean confesses that it was Amara. Sam is not surprised. Sam reassures Dean that he’s not weak or evil. He didn’t have a choice. Dean wants to kill her but he says when he’s near her, he can’t seem to take her down. Dean hates doing it to Sam but when it comes down to it, he’s not sure he can resist Amara. Sam tells Dean not to worry and that he’s got it.

I quite enjoyed this, but I am a Snarmelo fan.
