We’re already up to seven? We must be getting much closer to the midseason premiere! Have our lists started matching up with yours yet? Yeah, I didn’t think so! Share on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
Death is a frequent fate for many recurring and one-time characters on Supernatural. In fact, characters die so often that death is often only temporary, with resurrection and a second (third, fourth, fifth) chance at life almost an expected aftermath of even the most dramatic death scenes. Sam has died seven times, according to Supernatural…
Recently, I dug through my WIP archives and found several incompleted “lists” from the various seasons of Supernatural. You know, they were done in the vein of the David Letterman “Top Ten Lists” only SPN related. Most of them so far have been rambling garbage, but I found one at least that was a little…
Welcome back to The WFB’s “Top Six Favourites Episodes”, this time for Supernatural season five. These episodes are still, to this day, nearest and dearest to my heart. They are my comfort episodes, the ones I go to when I need a laugh or a cry or the comfort of an old friend. Before you…
First I must give a warning to all that have weak stomachs or gag easily. As much as I love this show, it can get pretty gross at times. Now I originally started this as the Top Ten Scariest Moments but I found I just didn’t scare that easily so I decided to go with the…
#9 – Pagan Gods Antagonists are even better when their work makes them happy. That’s especially true for the Pagan Gods turned over-the-top suburbanites in “A Very Supernatural Christmas.” Only the warped minds of the Supernatural creative team could pull off such this absurd pairing. Meet Madge and Edward Carrigan, the modern day too-sugary- to-be-real…
This episode was AWESOME and my favourite death is in this clip. The shower is my favourite because of the dialogue (fine don’t believe me) Sam – “You’ll thanks me when it’s Wednesday.” Dean – “Whatever THAT means.” and the way you hear Dean die instead of seeing it.
Tee-hee – the accidental axing is way up there. So is the death by golden retriever. Over on LJ, I have an animated icon of the death by desk, with the caption “And you thought you were having a bad day …”
And all I can do is laugh remembering Jensen at a con, when someone offered their favorite death as the one by taco, protesting “But you never even saw me die that time!”
This was a magnificent episode. And like you, I miss Kim Manners. I remember hearing Jared and Jensen talk about filming this episode, with Jared noting that they block-shot everything (meaning that they shot all of the scenes in the same locales back to back, one right after the other, so all of Sam’s waking up scenes just followed each other, and ditto with all of Dean’s lip-synching scenes and the ones gargling in the bathroom), and that what made it all work was Kim telling them exactly where they were in the timeline each time, so that Jared could connect emotionally with where on the emotional continuum Sam would be. That was anything BUT easy … and absolutely brilliant.
My favourite had to be the one where they’re sat in the diner and Dean’s eating and he looks at his food and says “does this taste funny to you?” then all you here is asia, just brilliant – the simple power of suggestion. Simple but effective and has me laughing every time.
Oh Alice, that would be awesome if you found that interview. I would love to read it.
Ah Kim Manners – “He left a hole and it hurts so bad you can’t take it.” – Sam, Bloodlust
Axe death is my favorite, no arguement 😆 and desk death, sossie death (did we catch a glimpse of the elusive pig-in-a-poke in the clip there? Sorry, I’m obsessing … ) dog death, Taco death, shower death, all great. I’m with Cassi, though, the first time I saw this one the first couple of wipe-outs quite discombobulated me.
I love the Trickster, I really hope he shows up again later. It’s nice to have a Monster Of The Week with a bit of a brain rather than the usual Raaargh-you’re-lunch variety.
Maybe you could do a top 10 favorite Evil Doers list sometime … Hmmn? (does puppy eyes) 😆
The axe death was one of my favourites as well. Dean’s face when he’s trying to calm everyone down – “Everything’s fine.” and you can read his thoughts – Sammy has lost it. Crazy Sam is hysterical! Mystery Spot was such a treasure-trove episode.
I have to say this one was by far the best episode with the trickster, who was barely in this episode to begin with. From the clip I have to say the ones in the motel room were far more funny. Sam tried to keep Dean inside thinking that would keep him safe till tomorrow, and it turns out it did the exact opposite. If I had to choose one, the taco bit was the best one for me. Manners was exceptional in his work for the show, no wonder this episode was so great. 😀
