Hiatus is the perfect time to get a little silly, so Clarissa over at and I decided to do just that!  We came up with 20 books that Sam or Dean Winchester might find in the Batcave library.

To see the full list, head over to TVOvermind and check out the slideshow and Clarissa's (@clarissa373) excellent explanation of where the idea for these books came from.  They were a lot of fun to put together, and much laughter was involved on our parts.

But the WFB has an EXCLUSIVE back cover to one of the books, Dane Blinhester's autobiography.  The reviews are...interesting.

What books do YOU hope Sam and Dean find in the library?

Thank you so much for this Ardeospina and Clarissa. Just the thing for a cold, Supernatural-le ss night in March hiatus :)

My favourite three are:

  • How to Sass an Angel without being Smote
Unicorns are Real, Bigfoot is not: Creatures and their Weaknesses
Zen and the Art of Sideburn Maintenance

Hmm...what else:
  • Bungee Cords and Weapon Retention
How to Rebuild a '67 Impala from Scratch
Motels of America - The Odd, The Weird and The Fugly
Of Drivers and Shotguns: Road Rules
A Guide to Achieving the Perfect Coiffure by Cam Finnwester
Pop Culture Explained: The Angel Edition
    Of Witches and their Creepiness
How to win a Prank War - Now with new chapter on Escalation!
Projects for a Weekend Off by Bobby Songwriter

    FBI Agent Impersonation for Beginners
Between Madonnas and Whores, Beyond the Monochrome: Fifty Thousand Shades of Grey
Family: Blood and Where it Ends
Tailoring for Hell (and Scotland) by Growley
An Idiot's Guide to Personal Space by Dane Blinhester
Laundry Tips for the Hunter on the Go

Wow. I need to stop. Surprisingly addictive once you get started!
# eilf 2013-03-07 12:01
Hah, Salads of America! And they always look worse than Dean's food and Deans food looks terrible!
# Super 2013-03-08 04:56
LOL magichappening, yours are so funny too!!

I esp. like Motels of America - The Odd, The Weird and The Fugly and An Idiot's Guide to Personal Space by Dane Blinhester

This article was hilarious and addictive! I'm still chuckling :)
# Dahne 2013-03-07 00:19
These are awesome. Thanks for posting. Love #magichappening 's additions as well. However I would say it was the trusty vampire who guided Dane in Purgatory.
# magichappening 2013-03-07 07:52
Thanks Dahne :) I think between all of us we could probably fill an aisle or two in the MOL archives ;)

Brilliant! I particularly love Bend Your Knees, Who moved my EMF meter? and How to Spend 8 Hours..

I had been thinking of one similar to the latter, but was going to phrase it something like 'Road Trip Boredom: How to Annoy your Brother in 3 Easy Steps'. I like how you went for the positive angle though!
# PaintedWolf 2013-03-07 08:26
Thanks magichappening and Karen!
magichappening- Loved yours, too, especially the Fifty Thousand Shades of Grey one!
# PaintedWolf 2013-03-07 08:27
Oops, meant for this one to go right at the end!
# magichappening 2013-03-07 11:08
Thanks PaintedWolf! Oh, I just thought of another one:

Life Beyond Plaid: A Sartorial Intervention

Wow. This article has certainly been a gateway one for me. From here I can see it's a slippery slope to Monty Python- level parody.
# eilf 2013-03-07 12:00
'Who moved my EMF meter?...' is my favorite so far :D
# PaintedWolf 2013-03-08 05:50

# Clarissa 2013-03-07 12:23
I'm loving all of the book titles you guys are sharing here! Kate and I had a huge ball coming up with the 20 original ones, but we literally could have gone on forever.

Now we just have to get the props department to do up a few mock-ups and actually hide these in the MoL library..... ;)
# magichappening 2013-03-07 15:02
Thanks for starting us off, Clarissa! How much fun would it be if the props department actually did that :)
# PaintedWolf 2013-03-08 06:09
Maybe someone should send them a card or something... ;-)
# Ardeospina 2013-03-10 00:05
This is true. We literally could have gone on forever. It's such a fun concept!

And yes, props department, let's have some of these books, please!
