"Supernatural": The Musical

How I'll Fulfill My Fantasy of a "Supernatural" Musical Episode Come Hell or High Water

Having accepted the possibility that there may never be a "Supernatural" musical episode (sob!), I've decided to make my own version. Depending on the response, I'll do a few of these to various numbers from known musicals.
Given the, shall we say, less than unicorn-ass-rainbow-bright happy nature of the season, I thought we'd start with something light; and without further ado, here is Dancing Through Life from my favourite musical, Wicked, with a little "Supernatural" flavour.

Dancing through Life - With the Winchesters

The trouble with schools is
They always try to teach the wrong lesson

Believe me, I've been kicked out
Of enough of them to know
They want you to become less callow
Less shallow
But I say: Why invite stress in?
Stop studying strife

And learn to live "the unexamined life"

Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
vlcsnap 00035

Life's more painless
For the brainless

Why think too hard?
When it's so soothing
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can sluff it off as I do

Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through...

Dancing through life
Swaying and sweeping
And always keeping cool

Life is fraught less
When you're thoughtless
Those who don't try
Never look foolish
Dancing through life
Mindless and careless
Make sure your wear less
Trouble in life

Woes are fleeting
Blows are glancing
When you're dancing
Through life...

Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life...

That was cute, keep them coming! "It's A Hard Knock Life" from "Oliver" maybe?

When I think of "It's A Hard Knock Life", I think of "Annie" not "Oliver" . . . but I could be wrong . . . won't be the 1st time. ;-)

My bad, you are absolutely right! How could I have gotten that wrong? I blame it on the pretty pictures, and I'm sticking to that story.

That was awesome. The dancing, the smiles, the boys need THAT.

That made my day. It really did. Just avoid "Memory" from CATS, cause it's kinda sad.

Love it, Elle! I kind of want a number from "Gigi" - Thank Heaven for Little Girls, with Lilith as star. :)

Glad to see this was enjoyed. I hope to do one every few weeks or so. Maybe sooner, depending on inspiration/bor dom, haha. Keep song suggestions coming. I have a few ideas in mind (not all from actual musicals, but my rules means I can bend them as I wish right?).

Also - that GIF image isn't mine, I found it on google somewhere, so if the owner is out there somewhere, sorry for using w/o permission. Thought I'd done a screencapture actually, didn't know the whole GIF would come through. Hope you don't mind, whoever you are!

This was fun! :D Oh boys and their redicuawesomene ss. Keep 'em coming, cuz what you're doing is cool.

That said, I may be in the minority who desperately wants the musical NOT to happen! Eep! I squirmed in discomfort when 'Moonlighting' did it. I tried to watch the Buffy ep when they did it and literally could not sit through it. I frankly don't understand the draw and would be horrified if our boys were ever given that script. It is one of the two things that would get me to simply turn the show off.

But! I do enjoy articles such as these! They are fun, and awesome and full of grin inducing funisms.

Thank you so much for re-visiting Jasminkas ilustrated songs like this. I have really missed the music related content around here!
