The Music, Season 2:

In My Time Of Dying

The recap comes to "Stranglehold", and since Carry On, Wayward Son hadn't yet become 'THE' music, it seems right. In fact, every season premier has been different, Season 3 opened to "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC and Season 4 to "You Shook Me All Night Long," again, by AC/DC (Note from Alice: "Hell's Bells" was WAY cooler). I'm cool with that, for it's the finales that I need the comfort of Carry On, Wayward Son.

"Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent

Bloodlust

Yeah, you know it had to come sooner or later. I've always liked this song, and not just 'cause when I was in ninth grade (*dates self*) a fellow student slipped this cassette (yeah, they were cassettes then) into the A/V equipment prior to the teacher turning on a movie; on came the movie and out blasted Back in Black - it was cool 'teach' even let it play for a little bit and grinned ear to ear!

The line that always has me grinning and knowing that EK and crew believe this to be 'the girl's' song, "I got nine lives, cat's eyes."

"Back in Black" by AC/DC

Simon Said

This song just works here, too cool.

"Stonehenge" by Spinal Tap

Nightshifter

Still the best use of music...ever.

"Renegade" by Styx

Houses of the Holy:

Similar to Faith this plays as the background for the boys' discussion about their mutual discoveries about angels and heaven and faith and prayer,it just works.

"Knocking on Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan

The use of music in this show is just awesome - the end of nightshifter is still one of the best (if not the best) use of music on TV. Simply glorious.

This was great, I agree with both of your choices, they're awesome :D

I have a soft spot for the end of Heart and the "Then" -part of AHBL part I.
Talking about endings, that could be nice top10 thing *wink wink* Top10 favorite episode endings... or beginnings (could be the previews (the "Then") or teasers or the actual beginning or something)... sorry, love me some top10's 8-)

But back to S2 music...
The Renegade is my all time favorite hands down. It was -so- rocking when I saw it, it just gave me the chills... And didn't bode well for the boys' future. But it was just perfect, with the rapid stop with the credits (reminded me of "Then" from AHBL prt 2 with Dean screaming Sam! oh *sob*

Huh, my comment was cut for some weird reason :|

There are so many good ones from season 2, but I love also Stranglehold (SO good and kicks *ss!), Time has come today (song of John, oh *sob again*), Back in Black (naturally), The Crystal Ship (excellent song, my Doors fave), White Rabbit (the song made the scott -scenes so much more scary!) and Rooster (ah, Alice rocks!).

Also, as much as I loved Hells Bells, I gotta say I loved "You shook me" waaaaay more... What a way to start a season! My favorite season opener, hands down.

This article was just *love* for me, thanks :-) Can't wait for the rest!

Hi, Bethany and Supernarttu (and Alice, of course!)

This is why I love that Alice joins me with these (and that she does all the tough stuff too ;-)

I get to go back and watch and 'experience' the article afresh once the clips are in it...awesome. I love all the additions too...I almost put the Heart song in there but didn't want to overload...now I know better. 8-)

I like the idea of some best of's for recaps etc...hmmm

Glad you loved the article...there 's two more (no kidding) but they'll be a few weeks out. Until then thankfully they're here for your viewing pleasure whenever you want.

Thanks for reading.

Love all of AC/DC with a deep and unhealthy passion. Mostly love the Doors, but Crystal Ship isn't a particular favorite ... Spinal Tap made me laugh like a drain so anything from there is good, White Rabbit is a brilliant creepy song and the ending to Nightshifter is totally perfect, nuff said ...

Hi, Suze,

I love the preview or 'coming soon' bit on the DVDs where they play AC/DC to the upcoming bits for Croatoan ...gets me jamming every time.

Glad you liked the musical walk through memoires.
