With the first episode of season seven set to air next Friday Sept 23rd, how many fans are really excited for this new year.  Given the highly energized season finally, Dean and Sam do seem to be headed for a disastrous time with the newly formed Godstiel and the bevy of new monsters set to grace our screen each week.

Fortunately to soothe some of the anxious wait, the CW has released 11 photos from the highly anticipated premier and a lengthy promo, with more to come for sure. To start, we can also look forward to the familiar sounds of AC/DC's anthem of “You Shook Me All Night Long” on our television screens accompanied by a lengthy recapping of last season, as this season picks up EXACTLY where last years left off.

And from the looks of all the spoilers so far released, while Castiel may have anointed himself as the new God, Dean and Sam are hell-bent to make sure that Castiel's promotion comes to a quick end. Speaking of hell, we can also count on the King of Hell making numerous appearances this season, such to the delight of all Crowley/ Mark Sheppard fans.  We already know that Cas has plans for the big dude, but so does Dean and Sam… and Crowley finds it a lot more comfy with the boys this season than Cas.  Seems he has plans to help the boys any way he can, if for no other reason than to keep Cas from finding him and ending their last season's "deal" on a more permanent basis.

Dean and Sam will have a tough time with their new goal however, as Cas , in his infinite desire to save everyone, has released unimaginable evil on the planet by opening the door to purgatory, and from the looks of the photos, all that power he has ingested is taking its toll on his vessel.  Jimmy seems to be going the way of Lucifer, and what will happen when Jimmy can no longer hold all that power?    We can take comfort in the fact that many new characters will spring up to help the boys and Bobby.

With the possibility of Cas going Chernobyl, Dean attempts to get the assistance of Death, who at one time declared, he could "reap God himself.' After casting a spell that does indeed cause Death to appear, he discovers that Cas has been one step ahead of the boys the whole time.  Death is not interested in helping the boys and Bobby and now they not only have to deal with a supped up Cas, but an angry horseman as well.  That's not exactly the position Dean and Sam want to be in...EVER.  That should give you reason to see how the writers are posed to send us a bevy of intriguing plots to chew on each week.

However, Cas and Death are not the only causes of concern for Dean and Bobby. Sam memories from his time in hell keep surfacing causing black outs and hallucinations and all at the wrong time…and if that isn't enough for you, all of the familiar hunting traits and techniques the boys have used in the past are GONE this year.  Even the impala might have to go into storage for a while - just to recognizable for the Winchesters.  Now THAT will REALLY piss me off!  It had better be a VERY short storage.

If that hasn't gotten you all in a tizzy about the upcoming season and, how about the fact that the story arcs this year can't be adequately told in the usually 22 episodes.  This season has been expanded to 23 episodes and what can we expect from that 23 show?  One has to wonder what and where season seven, and a possible season eight, will take us.

How is the season to start? You can read the synopsis of  "Meet the New Boss" below:

Castiel doesn't kill Sam, Dean and Bobby, but warns them not to interfere in his business. Assuming his new role as God, Castiel sets out to right some of the wrongs in the world. Dean decides they should find Death and order him to stop Castiel, but the former angel is one step ahead of them, leaving Dean to face a very angry Death. Meanwhile, Sam struggles to deal with the broken wall in his mind.

So, whatever may come after Castiel gets kicked from his throne, and he will as the boys never fail, or when Sam finally deals with his memories of the pit, one can take comfort in knowing that it will most certainly be handled with the same drama and comedy that the series has been handled with so far.

So I say BRING ON SEASON SEVEN!!!  I'm ready!

Comments are working for this now! This is the first article in a new category, season seven, and I forgot that every time I add a new category I have to add it to the comments module. So go ahead, speculate away!

Love to hear speculations on season seven, no matter how 'off the wall' they might be. It's just fun to do!

My first speculation is that Castiel will be back in the midseason finale episode. At least, he better be... *shakes fist*

Cas fixes Sam and then gets a ass-whooping from big brother Dean.

For me, I personally don't want Cas to fix Sam. I know what you're thinking. Easiest way for Cas to be redeemed perhaps, but I don't want it to go down like that.

What I'd like to see is Sam and Dean together dealing with this on their own. They both have a lot of issues to deal with and it would be wonderful and gripping storytelling if we could see the brothers handle this one without help from Cas's magic Angel (or now enhanced by Purgatory Souls) touch.

Hearing the slight spoilers to pierce my Spoiler Free Wall, it sounds like the brothers will have to rely on each other and only each other really in this season. This is one of those things I think they'll have to fix themselves rather than being in debt to someone else yet again for this problem.

As for whatever else is down the pike for our boys, as long as they're together, a single unified team with Bobby alive, I'm good.

So Cas is the topic this site wants to speculate on. Well Cas is definitely a topic for speculation. I've been asked if I think Cas will be killed...no I don't. Also asked do I think Cas will destroy Death. That’s a nope too. Cas and Death are the new good vs. evil personification s and neither good nor evil can be killed. Can the writers decide to throw that concept out of the window, sure, but it isn’t likely.

I think Cas in his attempt to save heaven did the wrong thing for the right reason. If he hadn't opened purgatory, Crowley and Raphael would have eventually...no t to the betterment of the Winchester world.

Unfortunately for Team Free will, Cas didn't fully realize the scope of what he was doing and that there will be sever consequence for it i.e. the releasing of all those new monsters the boys get to deal with.

I think Cas is totally taken over by all that power, but will eventually realize he needs to follow Dean's reasoning and will help the boys get things back to normal. Will the boys dethrone Cas, yes they will and they will do it with Cas’ help. Whether that will be in s7 or s8 is unknown.

I don't think anyone should believe that Cas will end on the series because Misha is now a guest star. Jim Beaver has been a guest star for the last 6 yrs and last year alone he was in more episodes than Misha, who was a regular. I think the PTB do listen to Cas fans, so I think he will be around off an on as long as the series is on air.

Nancy as for Cas fixing Sam, yes, he should. Whether he meant to or not, he did created RoboSam and then he inflicted a second injury by removing the wall. He needs to make restitution for those grievances and restoring Sam is a step in the right direction. No reason a person should struggle with a disease if a cure is available.

On one hand, yeah, I think you're right about Cas fixing Sam. He did create Soulless Sam and the aftermath of the wall collapse, yes, and therefore should right his wrong. On the other, I would love to see Sam have to deal with this on his own and grow through this struggle without Magic Angel Healing.

I'm here for the ride, but I don't know. It would almost seem too easy if suddenly Cas reached up, touched Sam's temple and all was right and well. Sort of anti climatic, I guess.

No to Cas fixing Sam . Sam has had little follow up in the past for Cas to point a finger and make it all alright would deny Sam that . I want to see Sam deal with this not a hand wave away by using Castiel has a easy route

And it would be done forCastiels sake not Sams and I want this to be about what was done to him not a piece of quik redemption for Castiel..

I do not mean a quick fix to Sam. We need to have stressed out Sammy, so that we can get big brother Dean. But eventually Cas gets his head on straight or God (Chuck) kicks his butt, and he repairs the damage to Sam.
