Yesterday I introduced my “unsung hero” episode list for seasons 1-7. You know, the lesser known, often overlooked episodes of the vast “Supernatural” catalog that do have some enjoyable qualities, but don’t sit among the series elite. Today, I bring you my choices for season 8-15. This of course is not an all-inclusive list, just…
Note from Alice: I’m proud to offer another first time great guest contribution, this time from Laurel. “Most Loved Episodes” is Laurel’s take on her personal top ten favorites with some honorable mentions thrown in. Feel free at the end to share your list! Happy reading everyone. Share on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
#5 – The Trickster I can’t explain what The Trickster did for us in just two episodes, but he became iconic. Sure, the episodes were two of the more talked about ones but still, for someone with such a deadly sense of humor, he managed to win us over. Of course, it helps when that twisted sense…
It’s New Years, and as we face another year of intense Winchester drama, action and strife, I found it appropriate to take a bit of time to remember the year gone by. Here’s my look at the top ten moments from 2015, aka the second part of season ten and the first part of season…
Today is Misha Collins’ 37th birthday. Happy birthday, Misha! So, in order to help him celebrate, I’ve put together a list of the Top 11 Castiel Moments. Because nothing says “birthday” like a list! Share on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
Yes, now that the excitement of Comic Con has passed, I’m writing up random lists at work while bored. By popular demand (both of you!), I present The Top Ten Motel Rooms of Supernatural. There’s no real criteria here, just that they stand out. Share on FacebookTweetFollow usSave
The Skin shapeshifter, in my opinion. I adore both of them, but Skin is probably one of my favourite episodes in the first season… I don’t know. I just find the idea of psychotic shapeshifters very, very creepy, and on the side of the mytharc it’s a good old horrorshow and I like to be scared. I like to be creeped out. If I didn’t, I’d watch My Little Pony.
I think the way each shapeshifter is written is clever, in that it shows how each of them “begins” the same, but grows to be what they are depending on their reaction to the circumstances and events of their up-bringing Mmm sounds a bit like our boys and the way they have reacted and grown. I personaly prefer the “darker” one in “skin”, still have a soft spot for the fun in Draculla!
Waiting for the next offering
Diane
I’d go with the Monster Movie shapeshifter, but the Skin shapeshifter gets bonus points for choosing Dean’s skin 😀
Hi, Alice,
Great comparisons between them all, I agree, for this particular adventure the shapeshifter in Nightshifter is out as his character wasn’t really part of the story, Ronald and Henricksen got those parts so we never knew the shapeshifter.
Both characters (Skin and Monster Movie) got to show their vulnerable sides, what haunted them and ‘made them’ still, they chose their paths and choosing evil is always a way to get killed, in the Supernatural world certainly.
I loved them both and can’t choose. It’s nice to have a multiple monsters from multiple seasons to curl up with when I’m in the mood for a shapeshifter triple play.
Great list.
Although i liked the shapeshifter in skin i just adore dracula! just so funny. both had a vulnerable side, similar experiences growing up and use violence to obtain their own ends, but the dracula monster i just feel is something a little deeper, he’s not just rage but is looking for love (going about it the wrong way) but is creative and random and has a million shades to him whereas all you see with the skin shapeshifter is rage and anger. plus loved the cloak!
Hmmm … Tricky …
Nightshifter ‘shifter gets points for being in such a total blinder of an episode and for inspiring Ron and his fabulously useless Mandroid theory … Bless …
Skin ‘shifter was evil, horrible, manipulative and twenty-seven flavours of vile so well done
him/her/it …
In the end my personal biscuit goes to the Monster Movie version for being splendidly daft ( the Vespa, the coupon, the leiderhosen … I could go on all night ) and actually rather touching at the end. It’s hard not to love a movie spod, whatever shape they are!
