  • Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections "Paper Moon"

    Is it time for Thriller?

This was one of those weeks that I really needed to think what video to choose this time. I knew there was a rerun for Paper Moon but still I hadn't found a video nor a thought for another video. That was until a SPN friend had found one and showed it to me that actually fit in a weird way for this week.

I have always liked Thriller as a song and the video I found actually combined clips from season 10 and before that and picked up scenes that fit to the music. I especially love the ending where Vincent Price is talking. When I was young they played old horror movies in summer holidays and those movies are one reason why I like the shows and the movies I do.

Vincent Price, Sir Christopher Lee who passed away just little while ago among others painted the way for Supernatural and others to follow. So, in their words it is good way to end this introduction before the video. You did good gents.

  • RearView Review: Supernatural 10.04 "Paper Moon"

“Say, it's only a paper moon
    Sailing over a cardboard sea
    But it wouldn't be make-believe
     If you believed in me”

When you “believe in someone” you put faith and trust in that person.
When someone “believes in you,” you gain confidence from their love and support.
When two people “believe in each other”, they are buoyed above the tired, fake world
    and it becomes magical.

  • Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections "Black, Reichenbach & Soul Survivor"

    aka RIP Demon Dean

It took a long while but finally Dean was graced by Supernatural with a long arc. We were teased about it a long while ago in season three episode 10 "Dream a Little Dream of Me". Sam and Dean came to Bobby's rescue in that episode. They need to drink a dream potion. Dean ends up face to face with his worst fear as the cross roads deal loomed over him and he saw himself as a demon.

Memories hit us with shots of guilt and remorse
but they also inspire and motivate us.
Even a lame lie can be annoying and hurtful.

  • Accepting Your Nominations - WFB Supernatural Season Ten Fan Choice Awards

Another “Supernatural” season has come and gone and you know what that means.  It's time for our annual awards!  What in season ten grabbed us, what tore us to shreds, what made us mad as Hell or flail like the out of control fangirls/boys we are?  We're looking for all those standout moments.

We've done awards ever since season three, and then I went back and did retro awards for seasons one and two just for good measure.  Ever since season seven we have chosen a list of award categories and put them to a fan vote.  You get that chance to be heard - the good, bad, and the indifferent – because we care.

As in prior years, we have pre-selected 16 award categories where you will select the winner.  Below are those categories.  Just list your nominations for each category in the comments through 11:59 pm ET on Thursday, June 18th.  The most popular nominations in each category will be chosen and used for the final fan vote (five to seven per category).  If we don’t get enough nominations in a category, then it becomes admin’s choice!  Do you really want me picking options?  (Muhahaha...)

Fan vote results will be announced first as part of our "Supernatural Season Ten Awards" series (there will be several Editor's Choice awards this year too).

Here are the categories.  Remember, only nominations from season ten episodes will be accepted. Happy nominating!

  • Fan Video of the Week: Supernatural Reflections "Knocking On Heavens Door"

Once in a while I click on a fan video that immediately pulls me in. I love this song and the version from Raign is beautiful. All four main Supernatural characters appear on the video, including the emotional parts when they got through the toughest parts of their lives. The video shows either a lesson to be learned or a friend or family member that pulled them back from the ledge, but also that those who are close to you can sometimes hurt you the most. It also shows that what you do or decide has consequences, good and bad, but there is also hope. In the end, they have survived to fight again but of course not without casualities.  It is also what we are heading into in season 11.
  • Let's Discuss Supernatural Season 10: Did It Work?

Season 10 is in the books.  It’s history.  All done.  There is no more speculation to be had as to what is to come in Season 10; it’s all over.  So, did it work?  Well, to me, yes it did.

    Supernatural “Black”

    Season 10, Episode 1

    Airdate:  October 7, 2014

    Written by Jeremy Carver

    Directed by Robert Singer

    Theme

“For nought so vile that on the earth doth live
But to the earth some special good doth give,
Nor aught so good but strain'd from that fair use
Revolts from true birth, stumbling on abuse:
    Virtue itself turns vice, being misapplied;
And vice sometimes by action dignified.”
(Romeo and Juliet Act 2 Scene 3)

Shakespeare noted that no one is entirely good, nor entirely evil and sometimes to do good, one must do evil; when doing evil, sometimes good may come of it. That is where we are in this Season 10 opener. Sam, Castiel, and a new character Cole (Travis Aaron Wade), are good trying to do good but performing terrible vile deeds. Dean transitions to a vile demon but is there any good left? A line has been crossed. There is no grey area here. We are in the black.

  • Threads: Supernatural 10.23 "Brother's Keeper"

The Darkness. The next unimaginably bad, impossible-to-defeat enemy unleashed by the Winchesters. When The Darkness billowed over the remote landscape, was I the only one who was reminded of the demon-filled black smoke that escaped Hell in “All Hell Breaks Loose 2”?
  • Thoughts on Supernatural 10.23 - "Brother’s Keeper"

Transport trucks. Hell hounds. Falling angels. Leviathan. As far as finales go, Supernatural has done them every way imaginable and usually manages to leave the audience hanging on the edge. "Brother’s Keeper" certainly had some edge, but as finales go – was it on par with what we’re used to overall?
  • TV Fanatic Roundtable: Season Finale Edition - Supernatural 10.23, "Brother's Keeper"

My, my, our panel was faced with a doozy with this one.  We were left plenty of nuggets to chew on during the long summer hellatus to come.  Myself and Nightsky along with TV Fanatic's Sean McKenna had plenty of thoughts for Sam and Dean's showdown at the bar, whether or not Death is dead (all of us say no), and what will Season 11 bring for The Darkness, Rowena, or what we hope to see in general.

    http://www.tvfanatic.com/2015/05/supernatural-round-table-into-darkness/

Here's Sean McKenna's review too.  He gave it a 4.6 out of 5.0 and is very intrigued (as are we all) by all the possibilties to come.
