Hey Supernatural fans!! I posted this some time ago, but can't remember where on this site I posted it :( I am a HUGE fan of the show and actually work in animation and am SO STOKED because I am actually working on this episode!!!! I started working on it last week and can I just tell you all, it will absolutely NOT disappoint! There were so many times where I was literally laughing out loud working on the script. Can't wait for the rest of the Supernatural universe to get to see this awesomeness for themselves.

From Supernatural Season 13 Spoiler sheet They are pretty reliable with spoilers, but not 100%

There will be an Animated SCOOBY DOO crossover episode. No I’m not making this up. It will be written by Jeremy Adams and Jim Krieg. Jared, Jensen AND MISHA have already recorded their voice parts. This will be episode 16.

The Scooby Doo episode – the show is nostalgic for Sam and Dean, and the episode becomes personal in difference ways for both of them.

From Digital Spy Dean will "put the moves" on Daphne in Supernatural's special Scooby-Doo episode

Speaking to Digital Spy at San Diego Comic-Con, Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) revealed that "the majority" of the special episode will be animated.

"Everybody's super-excited about it," Ackles said. "We've already done the voiceover – we did that back in February – and we've seen some renderings and... I don't want to give away too much, but it'll be the majority of the show.

"You get a little live-action in the beginning and then that gets us into Scooby Land and it's pretty cool. I'm pretty stoked about it."

Way back in season two, Dean had expressed his... admiration for a certain Scooby Doo character. So we had to ask... will Dean get to meet Daphne?

"Oh course he does!" Ackles grinned. "Yeah! And he might try to put the moves!"

We. Cannot. Wait.

Supernatural boss previews 'more adult' Scooby-Doo crossover episode from EW.

To read more on Supernatural, pick up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly on stands Friday. You can buy the whole set now, or purchase the individual covers of the group shot, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, or Misha Collins. Don’t forget to subscribe for more exclusive interviews and photos, only in EW.

It was an idea that had been discussed in the Supernatural writers’ room since at least season 4: What if the show did a full animated episode? Only, when you factor in time and money, things get a little complicated. “We have ideas floating around sometimes for years before we use them, and that’s the benefit of being on a long-running show,” co-showrunner Andrew Dabb tells EW.

It wasn’t until Dabb received a call from his friend Jeremy Adams at Warner Bros. Animation that the words “Scooby-Doo” found their way into the mix. “He was like, ‘Why haven’t they done a crossover with Scooby-Doo?'” Dabb recalls. His response? “That is an excellent question.” From there, the conversations with Warner Bros. Animation began. And thanks to an early season 13 renewal from The CW, the show suddenly had enough lead time to make it a reality. “The script was finalized and the guys recorded their parts I believe in March of this year and it will air probably about March of next year,” Dabb says.

As for the episode itself, Dabb continues, “It’s going to be an episode of Supernatural with Scooby-Doo in it. It’s not going to be an episode of Scooby-Doo with the guys in it. It’s more adult than your average episode of Scooby-Doo.” Co-showrunner Robert Singer adds, “Scooby is the marquee this year. The script really works. It’s just going to be great.”

'Supernatural's' Jared Padalecki Says Scooby-Doo Episode Is 'F**king Awesome' from 9News

Twelve years later, and Supernatural is still making Jared Padalecki's dreams come true.

The CW series' upcoming 13th season will feature an episode taking place in the animated world of Scooby-Doo -- and according to Padalecki, it's "f**king awesome."

"We got the script, technically, in March, April... because we did the audio for it several months ago," the 35-year-old actor told reporters at a screening on Thursday. "They've already started drawing it, and we actually saw a little mock-up."

"Never in my wildest dreams [did I imagine we'd do this]," he continued. "I grew up watching it, so to hear that animated you is going to be on the same screen with the Mystery Machine [is] super cool."

"I want to do a Scooby-Doo season," he confessed. "Scooby-natural, all 22 episodes."

The "Scooby-natural" episode was announced at the CW's Upfront presentation in May, but there's a few details still up in the air, like which car is faster, between Supernatural's famous Impala or Scooby-Doo's Mystery Machine.

"You'll have to see," Padalecki teased. "Depends on who's driving, I guess."

"It is a charming and very funny episode," Supernatural executive producer Brad Buckner added. "It's like the better meta episodes, where you have fun with what the show is and now you get two shows to tweak. There's a certain amount of expertise on a certain brother about what Scooby world is, and we have fun with that."

Season 13 will also feature the pilot episode of the long-running series' spinoff, Wayward Sisters.

"Its DNA will absolutely be recognizable as 'the child of,' as opposed to an entirely separate-looking thing," Buckner explained of the spinoff series, which centers on Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) as she creates a monster-fighting force out of a group of troubled young women orphaned by supernatural tragedy.

"It'll be borne out of our context," Supernatural EP Eugenie Ross-Leming offered. "I think it will have the flavor of the show with a more estrogen-heavy slant."

Supernatural‘s recent Scooby-Doo tease has me hungry for more “Scooby Snax” about the big “crossover” episode. Got any to share? —Lou
After the Scooby-Doo nod in last Thursday’s episode, I think we all know to whom this is referring: “There’s a certain amount of expertise [by] a certain brother about what Scooby world is. We have fun with that,” exec producer Brad Buckner says of the show’s “charming and very funny” upcoming crossover with the animated classic. But more importantly, what’s faster — Dean’s beloved Impala or the Mystery Machine? “You’ll get a chance to see. Depends who’s driving it, I guess,” star Jared Padalecki says.

SUPERNATURAL’S JARED PADALECKI IS A REALLY, REALLY BIG FAN OF SCOOBY-DOO

https://nerdist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/supernatural-scooby-doo-970.jpg

Supernatural has been on our screens for an astounding 12 years, and the show’s creative team is constantly finding new ways to keep it fresh. Case in point: a Scooby-Doo crossover episode. When they announced the bizarre event, we were definitely intrigued by the high concept idea of the meeting of these two huge franchises. But it’s not just fans who are excited, as we found out when we visited the Vancouver set of the show. As it turns out, one of the Winchester brothers really, really loves Scooby-Doo.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki first learned about the collaboration in January, and have been preoccupied by the crossover since the beginning of the year. “Well, we’ve been been working on it since February, and we’ve already laid down the audio for it,” Ackles said. “They recorded the full thing so it’ll all be documented. What little we’ve done so far has been really fun. We’ve already seen the animatics and that was pretty cool.”

Though the elder Winchester clearly enjoyed the process, it was his younger brother who outed himself as a huge Mystery Inc. fan. “I grew up watching Scooby-Doo,” Padalecki said. “I remember when the Scooby movies came out, and they wanted me to try out for Shaggy. I was young and Lillard is great, but I fought not to do it. It’s like, I’m a huge James Bond fan. Not that I could ever play James Bond, but I would never try out for that because that’s something I want to watch as a fan.”

Padalecki laughed, pausing for breath amidst his excitement. “I’m really excited for Scooby-Doo to be a part of the Supernatural lore, but I’m more excited for the Supernatural lore to be a part of the Scooby-Doo canon.” He continued, “That’s cool for me, you know, that there’s a footnote about Supernatural when people are talking about Scooby-Doo. It’s nerve-wracking to make when you’re such a fan of something, cos you wanna do it justice.”

The Scooby-Doo episode of Supernatural is due to air later this season. The crossover will see the famous teams join together in the guise of a more adult animation. It’s a bold move for The CW‘s longest running show, and one that will undoubtedly be met with a whole lot of interest.

While this kind of crossover will be a first for Supernatural, it’s certainly not for Scooby and the gang. The Scooby-Doo franchise has a history of incorporating other pop culture icons into their haunted adventures, whether it’s the dynamic duo of Batman and Robin, the basketball tricksters of the Harlem Globetrotters, or the original cast of The Addams Family TV series. Many ’70s celebrities also guest starred in Scooby-Doo episodes as themselves, from Don Knotts to Phyllis Diller to Dick Van Dyke to Sonny and Cher.

Jared’s enthusiasm is infectious and we can’t wait to see the Winchesters go for a ride in the Mystery Machine! Are you excited for this meeting of ghostly gangs? Can’t wait to see your favorite hunky hunters in cartoon form? Let us know in the comments!
