Has anyone heard rumors regarding a possible full length feature film for SPN? I find this a fitting topic with Entourage being released last week into theaters,,SPN with a serious budget? Ohhh boy..

Clevvermovies on Youtube listed SPN as #3 on their list of TV shows most wanted to be made into a movie. Personally, I think this would be an amazing way to end Supernatural, even if we get an end to the series next year. So, for the sake of discussion:

Would you want Supernatural to be made into a movie?

Should it be a standalone, or continuation?

Pitch your perfect SPN movie

I am going to put a lot of thought into this over the hellatus. At this moment, i would prefer a continuation of the series, however I know it has to be able to standalone for the sake of casual fans, So there are a couple of options. There are ways to recap the important events of the story at the very beginning, although I don't think I would be crazy about that route. I would love to see the FIRST scece "That night 30 (and some) years ago" be the beginning of the actual film just to play on our nostalgia, while also establishing the family-centric theme. I would still introduce the characters, possibly mid hunt, right after that. Once that is out of the way we could have other scenes that establish Crowley on his own as King of Hell, Castial as an angel...nothing that would be out of place, but enough to once again, give casual fans at least an idea of who these people are..

Story arc is what I really am interested in figuring out. It isn't going to come to me in one night, not anything of quality anyhow. I just believe there is so much potential with a bigger budget to put out a really great movie, and (if dreams came true) an amazing send off of an amazing television show. Get Kripke back. Have Chuck there at some point, even in a Deus Ex Machina role IDC....

You could pick up two years after the series finale (presuming the Winchesters haven't died.) A movie with just those two on some mini season big budget adventure would be fine, but I would prefer a premise where some other-worldly events have shaken reality to its core. The brothers are facing foes from the past (some sort of cosmic balancing taking place as the price paid for the brothers causing chaos of natural order all these years), I would love to see Azazel back. It would be a perfect way to bring the story full circle, maybe even the brothers sacrificing their very existence in the end (with help from God/Chuck) like they wanted in The Song Remains the Same...and even though they choose to give up existing to save the world, set the natural order back on track, save their parents, it would be awesome to get the "That night.." scene AGAIN at the end, except tweaked to where when Mary gets up to check on Sam, all is fine. Through some ripple effect, they get to lead normal lives as a happy family.....OR, we can always go with a post apocalyptic world, where the brothers didn't defeat a big bad, and watch them try to cope with this and do everything they can to take the world back ala "The End." Do an ending where they beat the hell out of everything, turn and see a whole new army of Big Bads, have a "bitch..jerk" moment as they stare at each other knowing this is it, and charge into the last fight with a cut to black as Carry On My Wayward Son starts playing and the credits roll.....All my ideas may sound terrible but this is me spouting things off the top of my head in 15 minutes..I think SPN ending with a movie would be the perfect way to go (even though i prefer tv series over movies any day)

Regardless of what you think of my ideas, let me know what you guys think about the questions posed above. Add questions of your own too!

Guest, I wish you had left a name.

I, Miss Nola :) have ALWAYS thought this show should be on pay tv, ie HBO or Cable with less restraints on language. Here in America, pardon, USA, we have many BASIC CABLE SHOWS, that have more LIBERTY in LANGUAGE, NUDITY etc.

'member the Puritans marked claim in ''the NEW WORLD.'' Europeans, ''our fore father's,'' were / are much more free with nudity and love making. Language as well. I went to College for THEATRE' and was blessed enough to have Ms Gayle Hunnicutt as a guest lecturer. She said there were NO LANGUAGE RESTRICTIONS IN ENGLAND, and I, the Miss. Nola that I am, anxiously raised my hand and said, ''WHAT..., YOU CAN SAY ANYTHING....'' she replied, ''Like What....'' :)

Well, as I am sure RUSS and NJspnFAN, ALICE, NIGHTSKY, ARDEOSPINA, BOOKDAL, FARAWAYEYES, and NATE WINCHESTER can attest to, I HAVE NO PROBLEM SPEAKING MY MIND, BUT, I was an 18 year old, motherless, black creole young woman and could not speak UP. She made it CLEAR that ANYTHING COULD BE SAID. :)

IT WAS THE BEST AND WORSE TIME OF MY LIFE.

I think for the last episode Kripke should come back (though it would be more amazing if he was show runner for the final season).

I would love to see Azazel back.

YES PLEASE :D

t would be awesome to get the "That night.." scene AGAIN at the end,

That reminds me, I would of loved to see the first scene with Dean and Sam in the pilot re-acted for the 10th anniversary. The "Dad's been on a hunting trip, and he been home in a few days" scene

I think there should be a movie that finishes it all off.

Ok ....

Sam and Dean have retired from hunting. They are living in the same town but possibly not in the same house. Sam is running a tiny local law firm. Dean repairs classic cars. There is space between them but not too much drama.

A McGuffin happens which requires a thingumybob of doom to be located.

Sam comes home from work and there is Dean settled on the porch on one of those swinging chair things (I want one of those).

Dean tries to talk Sam into going on a quest for the ToD and Sam says nope, I am all done! Dean argues but no good.

That night, weird event, shapeshifter shows up and destroys something, Dean shows up with sliverware, Sam agrees they need to help get rid of it. They capture shapeshifter and it turns out that he knows about the McGuffin and that it is actually going to be apocalyptically bad (when is it not?). Dean looks smug, Sam glares at him, we all go aaaawwww! in remembrance of days of yore.

Dean rescues Impala from local museum where it is masquerading as 'the Impala used for a bizarre number of incidents by two crazy guys'.

'We got work to do' (said into the trunk of the Impala, if there is any way of having them bring the shapeshifter with them and him IN the trunk going 'why the hell are you telling me that? That would be fun)

The boys head back to the bunker they abandoned years ago (for plot-bunny reasons if the film isn't long enough). Lots of pretty driving. Complaining that while the cassette tape collection is gone the music is still mullet rock.

We get another big reveal of gorgeousness of bunker! Previously unknown magic / technology stuff is shown off in a big-budget sort of way. Turns out they need an ex-angel to help them find ToD.

Search out the ex-angel. He owns a cake shop and since he still hasn't entirely grasped the realities of humanity he makes and decorates literal-minded cakes (See the site 'Cake-Wrecks' for details). This is so ridiculously hipster that it is extremely successful.

Cas gives them advice but refuses to help as he believes he will just mess things up.

The guys head off to .... find someone who can get them into the otherworld ... to find the ToD that will solve the eternal whatnot and make the world safe again from the McGuffin.

Crowley shows up and kidnaps Cas right in the middle of the shop. Crowley doesn't want the ToD found because it will lock away Purgatory forever.

In the meantime Sam and Dean can be having adventures in the otherworld meeting up with whoever from the show wants to guest star (since basically everyone is dead).

Big denuement! Explosions! Rescues! Angst! Hugs! Closeness of brothers! People becoming Angels again, angels smiting demons, demons sort of difficult to smite, live to fight another day

S&D decide that maybe they will move back to the bunker to become hunters again ...

Cas decides he will expand into the pie business but his wings keep getting feathers in the pastry. He decides to head back to heaven for good.

Fin

(needs good music and season 1-3 lighting, written by Eric Kripke, Ben Edlund, Sera Gamble)

You may possibly have noticed that the plot is a little underdeveloped ....

Has anyone seen the movie Serenity? It was the continuation and conclusion of the story started on the short lived and highly underrated Firefly (and an incredibly awesome movie). If you go by that premise the movie would have to be a continuation of whatever story the show is dealing with at the time. And it would have to be a really compelling story. The cliffhanger would have to be something along the lines of a conclusion to the brothers lives.
I would like to see a collaboration between the original group that brought us the successful pilot David Nutter, Eric Kripke and Robert Singer (although it would never happen Joss Whedon would be my personal pick). I also would like to see Robert Berens be one of the writers along with Carver and Edlund. And how ever the story gets us there the payoff would have to be the elimination of all magic, angels, demons and other supernatural monsters on earth. I imagine that would mean the sacrifice of both brothers to achieve that.

A gigantic budget would be awesome too.

For Samandean10 who wants to know about the output of 'Castiel's Real Cakes'

Slogan 'We will do whatever you want'
*what do you mean that looks like innuendo? What is innuendo? I am trying to help humanity here! Humanity likes cake! Sam says cake is the same as other sweet desserts! I trust Sam's word*

Some examples of the sort of thing Castiel might understand his customers to mean:

http://s3.media.squarespace.com/production/920827/11462743/_wGr8njEWjtI/Sr42Me7YaAI/AAAAAAAAEoE/oMI7MbEbMWE/s400/under%2Bneat%2Bthat.jpg

http://www.cakewrecks.com/storage/thumbnails/10710906-26245085-thumbnail.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1432101059209

I could see Castiel making all of these ... and there are so many more!

Personally the ONLY person could see making this last one is a confused ex-angel making EXACTLY what he was asked for:

(The lady who does the CakeWrecks is/was an SPN fan I believe so hopefully she won't mind me using some of her pics here.

I was going to reply to almost every post because every one was interesting, but since that is the case its just easier to write something down here..first, thanks to everyone that responded, almost everything i read was entertaining (from funny to engaging.) Nate, I actually remember reading that story you wrote when you first posted it, I don't know if I finished it though so I'm gonna have to do a reread soon..

Kudos to the pitches, I would buy a ticket to anything mentioned above. I gotta say though, i'm a little surprised by the poll results. Not hating, a standalone movie would make the most sense if we are talking money making wise, and definitely the most likely way a SPN movie is ever made...That said, my dream movie would HAVE TO be as an epic conclusion to the story. Since we have no idea where season 11 (or beyond) goes, obviously it is hard to know what the movie would even be plot wise and what characters are around, but I see it like this..

A two years later scenario makes the most sense, separates us from the season enough to allow the writers freedom in movie plot. I did not see Serenity, but i would hope for that type of scenario (and oh yeah, Joss would be my number one choice as man in charge.) X-Files the movie bombed, but the idea was correct. You have a show that has lasted so long, a growing audience thanks to NetFlix, and imo all the right ingredients to make an excellent movie, but more importantly, an excellent ENDING to the show. SPN keeps trying to UP THE STAKES, which i've been critical of since the s10 finale..the best way to do that is with real life stakes-upping. They would have a bigger budget and better base to showcase the "series finale" (im not saying there shouldn't be a series finale on tv, just that the ultimate ending would be best as a full length movie) and since the show would definitely be wrapped up, everything would hit that much harder.

I love the idea someone said above regarding closing out Hell and whatnot..both brothers sacrificing themselves in the end makes sense too- dying because one shuts the gates, not crazy about that but you can sidestep that problem by having both brothers partake in the trials and maybe curing a demon (screw it, do Crowley again) together prevents either from dying (they are stronger together, major theme of the show right?) We couldn't have just a redo of season 8 though, so there would have to be alot more plot added in, but having Sam and Dean end the Supernatural in their world would be worthy of "Supernatural" ending.

I feel like bringing Lucifer back isn't the way to go, which sucks because its the easiest way to justify bringing yellow eyes back...I'm going to continue to ponder an acceptable way for that to happen. After all, they killed Azazel off in season 2 to serve as a series finale incase they weren't renewed. He is the one villain that has the charisma to carry a movie, while not suffering from being stale. I feel like there were many more stories to be told regarding him. if "x" happens and azazel was resurrected, he would be a loose cannon. His God was false, didn't give a damn about him or his kind. His whole existence was basically a waste, so I could envision a demon hell bent on just destroying all of existence in return...or you could go with him being a tyrant of Hell like before, and going for a more expedient way of opening Lucifer's Cage for the big event the brothers are trying to stop. Saving the world, dealing with their parent's killer again, the boys would certainly have motivation to fight the fight.

I have always wanted the Winchester family to be reunited. I thought they were moving in that direction since DSOTM went out of the way to address the fact that neither Mary nor John were able to be found in Heaven at the time. So I think that would be an interesting route to take for the end maybe..

Sorry for the ramblings, its late and I'm just writing whatever comes to mind without filter. I'll eventually have an actual movie pitch come out of all this, but when remains to be seen.

ONLY THING I KNOW- I do not, under ANY circumstance, want to see a movie of teenager versions of Sam & Dean. Jared and Jensen are essential to this whole thing for me. A reboot would mean as much to me as that rumored reboot of Buffy- Zero on the "Give a F" meter. Just sayin.

With the understanding that Wayward Son is SPN's anthem.

And that it will be played at the beginning of the last ever episode (which is going to have to be at least 2 hours long to fit in all the 'then' of x number of seasons)

Is there anyone with me on the idea that Brothers in Arms is the ideal playout song for the series finale - almost no matter what happens in the finale, it would work? (And it is even the right era musicwise!) There is an SPN/BiA video out there already but it doesn't use the right stories for the song, BiA would make a great Butch and Sundance ending I think ....

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Someday you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn to be
Brothers in arms

Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I've witnessed your suffering
As the battle raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Now the sun's gone to hell and
The moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line in your palm
We are fools to make war
On our brothers in arms
