I have a treat for you this year.  This season's "The Engima of Sam Winchester's Hair" is in slideshow format!  80 plus slides of nothing put hair mocking goodness.  I'm gonna warn, it might be dangerous to watch this at work.  Unless your co-workers have heard you laugh out loud a lot over silly things on the web.

I love the yearly recaps on Sams hair, you obviously have a great time doing them, and whats not to love having to go through loads and loads of images of Sam Winchester.
I must say I do have a sneaky liking for the side burns I think its the precision with which they are trimmed, perfect straight lines and curves, brilliant.Thanks for taking the time :lol: Sharon

That Sam Winchester is such a giving person. First he gave up his life (once or twice) then he gave up his soul, and all for our entertainment. This season it's like he spoke to John, sorry God and said 'Lord, what more can I gave my people?' and the Lord said 'Thou shalt give them hair'.

And so Sam gave them hair and it was good and one day Sam again spoke to the Lord and said 'Lord, I have no more hair to give. It's getting dry and split at the ends'. So the Lord spoke and said, 'Thou shalt not just give the people hair of thy head by thy facial hair and thy chest hair as well (if it suits)' so Sam did as the Lord said and it was damn good.

Then the Lord spoke to his messiah and said 'Alice, bring the people the good news of the hair' and Alice did and there was much rejoicing and swooning and whatnot.

Love the hair recap. As much as I love his hair I do hope they cut it a little shorter this year. In one pic it looked like it was long enough to braid. And those sideburns... sorry not a fan. Every time they get too long all I can think about is the stripe on the Gran Torino in Starsky and Hutch (Yes I know I'm showing my age lol). They are distracting and not in a good way. Anyway great job. You got a giggle or two out of me.

Maybe its just me but I STILL think the long hair is so very OOC for Sam. I think it worked as a silent form of rebellion against John and his need to control SOMETHNG in his life when his life was so very out of control. And Kripke said in S1 he wanted Sam to look younger then Dean.

But i feel Sam would have long since cut his hair - for simple control, maintenance - Sam has matured in all ways. It feels like at some point he would have looked in the mirror, said "f" it and cut most of it off...leaving it somewhere around mid season 2 hair.

Sam's hair completely mystifies me so I'm so glad see the picspam. Oh and Sam should ALWAYS rock the scruff.

Sam's. Hair wasnt actually long until season five. Sure it was floppy and untidy and not military short, but it was not long. Now it is girly long. Jared's hair looks okay still because its wavy. Sam's straight hair is atrocious and not flattering at all. I guess hats what the picspam showed me! :)

Love the Samhair review!

Gotta admit (with a wince) that I kinda like the sideburns. (hides) :-*

But I do think a little trim of the ends of the hair would make a big improvement? The hair is almost the 4th leading character on the show along with Sam, Dean and the Impala! :D

Wow, 80 pics of Sam.Thank you. Always fun to see what you come up with when you are bored. I did wonder what they were going for with the sideburns (Elvis,the Vegas years!). I hope they figure it out this year.Strange, very strange.Is it the hair stylist/or the writers,show runner that decide what Sam should look like next? Thanks especially for the smiling pics.Who knew Sam smiled that much last season.LOL Since filming starts Monday and I'm sure someone will get a couple pics to share, we will see soon, the hair for season 8.

I do like Sam's hair long I have to say - from my point of view he could go the whole hog and grow it long enough to tie back :) Jared's hair is lovely though and I thought he looked particularly good in the Riocon photos/vids etc.

I had no idea there was so much Jared ‘n’ Sam hair-related information out there! There’s enough material for a conference e.g. http://storify.com/superwiki/the-symbolism-in-sam-s-hair S.E. Hinton. Nuff said.

Hair-dee Hair Hair... That was tress (say with a french accent and the pun works better!) special. The MANE event of reviews, you might say.

I loved your attention to detail, and by details I mean all waves, curls and flips. And the "Sam - the early adolscence years", courtesy of Colin Frod.

I am still patiently waiting for the credit that says "Sam's Sideburns played by... "

I wonder if Season 8 will feature scruff for both brothers. I know there will be some "close shaves".

Not a fan of the sideburns ! I'm a Sam girl, and tend to ogle at him more intensely with each rewatch, and through half of season 7 my self-indulgent ogling has been hampered by the presence of the sideburns. I vote them off, though I do like long hair for Sam.
Scruff rocks.
