5. Song: “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”
Artist: Iron Butterfly
Another awesome use of music from “Skin.” That episode nailed it! This song makes an already creepy opening even better.
4. Song: “Laugh, I Nearly Died”
Artist: The Rolling Stones
Episode: “Bloody Mary”
The only use of The Stones to date, and it’s an unconventional choice. But it works so, so well with the end of this episode, as Sam sees a vision of Jessica. Great pairing.
3. Song: “Bad Company”
Artist: Bad Company
Oh, Meg. We all knew there was something off about you, and our suspicions were confirmed when this song started up.
2. Song: “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper
Artist: Blue Öyster Cult
Was it a little on the nose? Yeah. Was it awesome? Hell yeah! Sometimes the obvious choice is still the best choice.
1. Song: “Bad Moon Rising”
Artist: Credence Clearwater Revival
Episode: “Devil’s Trap”
That cliffhanger ending! And this song was just absolutely perfect with it. The show loves some CCR, and so do I. This was the best use by far, though.
Those are my choices! Which were your favorite uses of music in season 1?
